Admin
As an admin, you can perform all tasks an instructor can, as well as:
- Access to all workshops across the system
- Creating, modifying and deleting workshops
- Load a workshop i.e. set the current workshop
- Assigning instructors to workshops
- Change user roles
- Modifying/deleting users
Managing Users
Editing Users
- From the dashboard, switch to
Userstab - From here, you can click on any user's
Editbutton to modify their profile, including their Name, Email and Role. - This is particularly useful for creating new admins and instructors, as the system assigns all users
Participantrole by default.
Deleting Users
- As an admin, you are able to delete users, however this is a destructive action and should be used with great caution.
- Deleting a user will cascade delete all their submissions, enrollments and scores from the database.
- In most cases, there is very little to be achieved from deleting users.
- To delete a user, from the dashboard, switch to
Userstab, then press onDeletebutton, and confirm it.
Managing Workshops
Creating Workshops
To create workshop, simply click the Create Workshop button on dashboard, then fill in the necessary details like:
- Workshop name
- Start and End Dates
- Status: Can be either Draft, Active or Archived
- Whether to enforce sequential completion of assignments
Assigning Instructors
- You can assign and remove instructors from a workshop.
- On the workshop page, go to the Instructors tab, then click on
Add Instructor - Here you can search for and add instructors directly. They need to have the
Instructorrole
Loading Workshops
- As an admin you can load a single workshop into the system.
- All participants attending will see the material the loaded workshop
- This behaviour will be deprecated soon, as it doesn't allow multiple workshops to be conducted simultaneously.
Deleting Workshops
- As an admin you are able to delete workshops, however this is a destructive process and should only be performed cautiously
- In most instances, you will want to just archive a workshop instead of deleting it.
- When a workshop is deleted, all the workshop related records in the database are cascade-deleted including : enrollments, assignments, submisisons etc.
- To delete a workshop, click on Actions button of the workshop, then scroll down to
Delete, then confirm it.
